StillWatching ("we," "our," or "us") is a personal TV and movie tracking service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

When you use StillWatching, we may collect information you provide directly, such as your email address when you create an account, and the watchlist data you add to the service (shows, movies, episode progress, and ratings).

We also collect limited usage data such as which features you use and general interaction patterns, to help improve the product. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

StillWatching uses third-party services (including The Movie Database (TMDB) for show and movie information) to provide its core features. Your queries to TMDB (such as searching for titles) may transmit your IP address to TMDB and are subject to TMDB's Privacy Policy. We do not control and are not responsible for TMDB's data practices.

If you sign in with Google, Google provides us with limited profile information (name and email) solely for authentication purposes.

Data Storage

Your watchlist, ratings, and preferences are stored in our database and may be associated with your account. Local-only profiles store data in your browser's localStorage and are not synced to our servers unless you create an account.

Cookies

StillWatching uses session cookies to maintain your authenticated session. We also store certain preferences (such as your selected color theme) in your browser's localStorage. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking cookies. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals.

Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws (including, without limitation, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, or "CCPA"), you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

Your Choices

You can export or delete your account data at any time by contacting us at the address below. You may also clear your local browser data through your browser's settings, which will remove any locally-stored preferences and your guest profile.

Use of Service

StillWatching is provided for your personal, non-commercial use in tracking TV shows and movies you watch. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

Account & Content

You retain ownership of any data you submit to StillWatching. By using the service you grant us the right to use that information to operate and improve the product as provided to you.

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its normal operation. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Third-Party Data

Show and movie information (including posters, descriptions, and metadata) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB) and is subject to TMDB's terms of use. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of third-party data.

Availability

We aim to keep StillWatching available and up-to-date, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when possible.

Common Questions

How do I import my watch history?
Go to Profile → Import. We support TV Time (via the TV Time Liberator browser extension) and IMDb (via the ratings export). More import options are in active development.
Is my data synced across devices?
Yes — when you create an account and sign in, your watchlist, ratings, and progress are synced across all devices. Local profiles store data only on that device.
How do I delete my account?
Send a request to [email protected] and we will delete your account and associated data within a reasonable timeframe, in accordance with applicable law.
Where does show and movie data come from?
All show and movie information is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB). We do not host or own any of this content — it belongs to its respective creators and distributors.
